Bubbles 2

Also for Bubbles, because I needed to do something during the meeting, photo setups not lending themselves well to video calls. I love how baby elephants enjoy blowing bubbles the same way little kids do when given a drink with a straw.
In which we exhibit
Things have been going quite well on the art front. One of my friends in the arts lab has managed to swing being allowed to have an exhibition of our work in a local pub, so we spent a fun afternoon throwing our pictures up on the walls (I’m told that is the technical term for it). Details are here.
In order to allow room for everyone who wanted to exhibit, I’ve only got a few pictures up, but I’m hoping that some people might like them and want to see more, so if this is you, hello! For the theme Bubbles, I made actual soap bubbles (with a bit of sugar for longevity) and photographed them against a reflective background with coloured lighting.

Democratus
Mixed media mainly comprised of paper lampshade, acrylic, metallic spray paint and garden wire.
This is a lampshade based on Democratus, a planet in the computer game Anachronox, made in response to the topic Cosmos. Surprise!

In which I make art as well as sew
Hello, yes, I am very bad at updating. It has been more than a year since my last update. :-S Many people have found lockdown to be a splendid opportunity to step back, take a breath and get some stuff done round the house. Not me though! Since online retail continued to be a thing, and there was no support for self-employed people unless they could demonstrate business was negatively affected, it has all been pretty much business as usual. I actually haven’t had a lot of motivation for sewing things, but I did join an arts lab and have been churning out a weekly Art. This is why my Flickr gallery is recently full of painting, photography and papercraft rather than sewing! I haven’t given much thought to whether I want to sell any of it (though I did already have one pre-lockdown picture on Etsy), but please feel free to get in touch if you see anything of interest. I think I will also start posting some of my pictures here, as it doesn’t require finding time to think of what to write! That’s not to say I have given up sewing, though – I’ve got a couple of bits lined up and it’s nice to get back into the swing of it. Onwards!
